Trust Links are a SOUTHEND ON SEA BASED mental health and wellbeing charity. Who work across South-East Essex to support people experiencing mental health difficulties, unpaid carers and other community members. Our projects support over 1,500 people a year in Southend, Rochford and Castle Point.
They are committed to building stronger communities and supporting the environment because sustainable living is at the core of their work.
When their old Oil fired Boiler failed their Chef Executive Matthew King contacted DR Terence Lewis of Energyst consulting and explained the situation including a severe funding shortfall to pay for a new boiler.
After a survey of the building, Dr Terence Lewis of Energyst Consulting recommended a new 30kw LG Air source heat pump for the following reasons;
- It is a lot more environmentally friendly than oil.
- The 5-1 efficiency ratio means for every unit of electricity consumed 5 units of heat are produced.
The building already has Solar PV (Electric) panels on the roof so a Solar Boost was also added to the project enabling surplus solar-generated electricity you contribute toward the Hot water storage cylinder.
Energyst Consulting arranged a 40% LoCase Southeast Grant funding contribution towards the project.
The Trust Links community are now looking forward to a nice warm centre for this winter.
